PATAGONIAN PROTECTED AREA
The Argentine Patagonian region is a protected area against fruit flies and fruit fly disease. For this reason, all fruits that may be affected by this pest are restricted from entering the Patagonian area. The same procedure applies to beef and pork, fish, poultry and by-products.
The following list shows the different fruits that can be affected by this plague of flies and in order to enter the region they must undergo a quarantine treatment: Blueberry, Babaco, Carambola, Cherry, Cherimoya, Citron, Plum, Apricot, Peach, Raspberry, Pomegranate, Cherimoya, Guava, Sour Cherry, Figs, Persimmon, Kumquat, Kiwi, Sweet Lime, Lychee, Tangerine, Apple, Passion Fruit, Quince, Minneola, Orange, Loquat, Avocado, Papaya, Nectarine, Sweet Cucumber, Pear, Bell Pepper, Grapefruit, Tomato, Tree Tomato, Tuna, Gooseberry and Grapes
The quarantine treatment consists of fumigating all the fruit in Bahía Blanca (450 kilometers from Baires), in order to be able to cover a distance of 62 kilometers. Phytosanitary control.
Reference Boneless Beef/Pork, Fish, Poultry and by-products require a Patagonia Health Certificate issued by the corresponding packing plant. (Bones are strictly prohibited)
